National Program

The Pushback Network: is a collaboration of independent, grassroots organizations committed to increasing civic participation in communities of color, low-income and working communities through the development of ongoing bottom up state alliances. PBN connects the infrastructures of well-established, high-performance community organizing groups to build state alliances that can achieve a breakthrough in civic participation. The founding states include: California, New York, Alabama, New Mexico, Mississippi and Kentucky. The Pushback Network’s medium-term goal is to build a national network of state-based alliances in 8 to 12 states over a five year period.

Building Partnerships: seeks to increase civic & political activism to strengthen democracy and advance social and economic justice. Growing out of the learning experiences of two California-based organizations – SCOPE and WPUSA – BP serves as a peer-based resource network of regionally-based social change organizations that combine research, policy analysis, organizing and advocacy.
